About 16 km from Syracuse and 165 m above sea level, lies the city of Solarino. The origin of the small town with a population of approximately 8.000 inhabitants is mysterious to this day. First historical events go back to 61 AD, as St. Paul during his three-day visit to Syracuse visited the settlement of Solarino. Solarino is the smallest town in the province of Syracuse but has the highest population density after Syracuse and Floridia. Its importance in the province comes primarily from the processing of agricultural products. Every year, the majority of olive production and approximately 80% of the Sicilian almonds is processed here.
A blooming and peaceful countryside surrounds the city and offers a relaxing holiday in a Mediterranean landscape. For all them who still are looking for the waves of the seaside, will find the sandy beach of Fontane Bianche and beautiful rocky beaches at less than 24 km from Solarino.

Distances from Villa Paolina: all facilities, bars about 3 km, bus stop about 3 km, restaurant/pizzeria about 2,5 km, newspaper kiosk about 3,5 km. Penny Market at 8 km (in Floridia). A mall (open from Monday to Sunday) and Lidl are in Syracuse.

VILLA PAOLINA (Sleeps 6)

About 2 km from the city centre of Solarino and embedded in a completely quiet and typically Mediterranean landscape, you will find this charming private property of about 6,000 square meters with a private swimming pool. The amazing view of the surrounding landscape is due to the elevated position on a slope of around 160 m above sea level, which gives the house a very special flair.

Accommodation: This pleasant detached house has a comfortably furnished living space of around 120 square meters for a total of 6 people. The living space is divided into two different ambiences: the first ambience of around 80 square meters with all facilities and the second, thanks to the glass walls, like a beautiful, light-flooded winter garden of around 40 square meters.
You cross the winter garden through a sliding glass door and reach a second door that opens onto an open-plan living area. Here is the living area with sofa group with flat screen TV with satellite TV, dining area and kitchenette. A pleasant room climate in all seasons is guaranteed by the air conditioning in summer and a pellet stove in winter. The pellet stove is centrally connected so that it heats all rooms in the house.
The kitchen is fully equipped and has a cooking plate with 5 gas stoves, microwave, electric oven, dishwasher, toaster and espresso machine (classic espresso maker) and a coffee capsule machine (coffee capsules need to be purchased separately). WiFi is of course also available.
Three bedrooms guarantee sleeping possibilities for 6 people. A bedroom with a double bed and air conditioning, a bedroom with a French double bed (slightly narrower than usual) and air conditioning, a bedroom with a single bed and a pull-out single bed. This bedroom has no air conditioning but a fan. A bathroom with shower / toilet and bidet complete the facilities of this ambience. Portable cot and high chair are available and included.

The winter garden, which internally surrounds the first ambience of the house with glass walls, gives the whole house a number of advantages. On cool or rainy days, you can sit here comfortably and enjoy the landscape from the inside or, thanks to the dining table, you can also dine pleasantly. In addition, the winter garden has a second kitchenette with a hotplate with 5 gas stoves, an electric oven and a small freezer. The laundry room with washing machine is located separately but within the winter garden.
It is worth mentioning that the house has a power generator (emergency generator) which guarantees the continuity of the power supply in the event of a power shortage.

External accommodation: On the back of the house, the Mediterranean garden unfolds with around 1.800 square meters of lawn, inside and surrounded by the lawn, the gem of the house is located, the beautiful private swimming pool (12x7 m, 1,00-2,50m deep, 01.05. - 30.09 opened) with salt water which impressively overlooks the landscape that opens up in front of you. Here you can surrender to the sun, water and relax without worries. The salt water of the pool is generated by a specific electrolysis because it is more skin-friendly and not as aggressive as chlorine is on the skin. Seating, dining table and outdoor grill are ideal for outdoor dining.

Private parking inside the fully fenced property. Car use necessary.
If you leave the kitchen not cleaned (dishes washed and tided up, garbage thrown away, sink and kitchen furniture cleaned up) 50 € are required for this extra cleaning.
