For lovers of history there are various options, the Renaissance city of Lucca with its walls, Altopascio along the ancient Via Francigena. However, a special visit to the town of Collodi and villa Garzoni with its park dedicated to the puppet Pinocchio is a must. Cities such as Florence and Pisa are easily reached by train from Altopascio. This is a country house typical of the Tuscan countryside with walls in stone and bricks and wooden beams.
