Holiday House: Casteldelmonte, 4 People

Well equipped house in a panoramic position. This house is located in the 800 years old Casteldelmonte and is part of the former fort with currently about 30 permanently inhabited houses. About 100 people are here during the summer.

As the house is part of a fort, it forms with two adjacent buildings a courtyard of the former castle.

Casteldelmonte is located in the city triangle of Spoleto, Acquasparta and Terni (with train connection to Rome, 1 hr. traveling time) on a hill 650 m high. An excellent strategic position for culture lovers, hikers and for excursions. The area is forested and is ideal for walks and rides. The nearest town with shops of all kinds, restaurants, public swimming pools and tennis courts, hospital, school, train and motorway connection is the spa town of Acquasparta, well placed about 8 minutes away from Casteldelmonte by car.

Nearby is the old, rebuilt village Macerino (about 10 minutes away by car through the forest). Here you can get in three trattorias Umbrian home cooking at very reasonable prices. Agreement with the owners of the local private swimming pool and tennis court (see photos) for the guests of Casteldelmonte

Layout of the house

The house is divided into 5 levels with a total of approx 165 square meters:

Basement:

Cellar, workshop, new gas central heating.

Ground floor:

Terracotta-tiled habitable tavern with satellite connection, TV, piano, sitting area with leather chairs; about 40 square meters, various (board) games.

Kitchen floor (about 30 sqm):

Living room with fireplace, tiled, equipped kitchen with refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher ...

Stairs to a second living / bedroom via 4 steps: bedroom with double bed (1.40 x 2.00 m), bookcase, TV-connection and bathroom (bidet, sink, toilet, about 25 square meters).

Stairs to the upper floor without railings (see pictures, therefore not suitable for young children).

Upper floor (about 55 sqm):

1 double bedroom (bed: 1,80 x 2,00 m) with desk. A large double bedroom (Japanese floor bed 2 x 2.40 m, see photo, with fan and spiral staircase to the roof terrace), another bathroom with bidet, WC and sink. Bookcase in the hallway.

Above this bedroom there is the large roof terrace with panoramic views over Todi and the Monte Amiata in Tuscany in good weather, reachable via a spiral staircase (not suitable for people with disabilities / small children).
